I have been a bit late posting these learning activities, because i have had a really bad migraine these last days, but here it comes! This task was to market my website about my hometown. My budget was NOK 10 000,-
1. Do some research on what advertising costs. You could for instance contact your local newspaper, print shop and other websites.
I chose the newspaper Adressa, which is in Trondheim. If i want to have the biggest ad in the paper that i could offord with my budget at 10 000,- was 71×164 which would cost me 8615,- kr in color and 6894,- in black & white. If i choose the ad in color i have i 1385,- kr left in my budget. I checked up other options, like a banner. I found a banner at Vistaprint which was extra large (242,5×76,2cm) for 779,- kr. So both the ad in the paper an the banner was inside my budget.
2. Make a detailed list of how you would market your website. Remember to keep your budget in mind.
Since Kyrksæterøra is a beautiful place for tourists. It`s perfect for soccer, hiking, skiing and other attractions. To market this i would have put banners in the centrum so the tourists can see what we have to offer. I would also have made a facebook page so that everyone can ask questions, and know what is going on in Kyrksæterøra at any time.
3. What if you had double the budget? Come up with a second marketing strategy, this time with NOK 20 000 at your disposal. (3600 $ US)
If my budget is the double of what i had over here, i would have had my ad in VG which is Norway biggest paper. I would have made a professional homepage so that the tourists could for example book hotel rooms, and buy ticket to other attractions we have. I would also had banners on top of different internet papers in Norway. And i would also have had a bigger ad i VG, insted of the small one i wrote down in task 1.
4. Come up with a viral idea. It doesn’t have to be a video; it can be guys dancing at the airport in gorilla suits. You can use ANYTHING that is at your disposal. Be creative!
If i could do whatever i want to, without thinking about the budget, i would have invited Molde, Rosenborg and Hødd (soccer teams) to the town and got them to played against eachother. Soccer is a popular sport in Kyrksætera and we have about 7 soccer players who are playing on different popular teams in Norway.
