– Both women and men
– Student`s work
– Target group: both women and men from the age of 18-23 (students)
and all the way up to 65(?) for parent, siblings, grandparents etc.
– Animation, song and effects
– 10 to 30 seconds

And here is my title sequence!

This assignment has been both fun and challenging, since i`ve never used adobe after effects before, but after this assignment i know the program alot better and now i know have to make this kind of short films later.

learning activity – playing with ideas

If the idea is at the heart of everything, then I would like you to think of a movie that you love. Then look at its current title sequence and come up with a new one.
Sketch up the rough idea in the form of a storyboard. Your storyboard needs to be at 30 frames and should be for at least 1minute of motion design.
Please scan and upload this activity to your WordPress blog.

The movie i chose was The Notebook.

learning activity – shooting in low-light conditions part one

1. Describe the steps that you will take to ensure that you take a high quality photograph in low light conditions. Refer to exposure, lenses, tripods, colour temperature, flash and ISO. Your answer should be a minimum of 350 words.

When you are photographing in the dark it is necessary (at least important) to have a tripod, or something to place your camera at, so it is at the same place at each picture. The shutter speed has to be long, for about 30 second or more. If you are photographing a object/motive with a lot of light(s), these will often get really overexposed so its good to underexpose the object/motive, to reduce the light in the picture. When you are having a Photoshoot in the dark the use of flash can be really strenuous on the motive/object/humain being, and then you dont get a good photo and the mood you want from the shoot. When its coming to the ISO you should have as low ISO as you can, to reduce the noise in the photo. The bigger ISO you have, the more noise will get into the picture. You should also have a low shutter speed, so you can avoid blurry pictures and that the picture isn’t focusing on what the photographer wants it to focus on.

learning activity – mastering the art of product photography

Question 1

Draw up a list of the most important aspects of a product photograph. Refer to shadows, lighting, quality, ISO and editing in your answer. Mention at least five things.

When you are photographing a product photo you should have a neutral light and avoid shadows. Lightboxes can be a good idea to use during the shoot. The ISO should be as low as possible to get a good result. You should photograph in RAW format so you have more options, and it is also easier to edit the picture later. It is not necessary to do alot of editing of the photo, since you want it as real as possible.

learning activity – analysing the use of design fundamentals

Choose any one of the illustrations from the lesson Design Drawing and answer the following questions (when submitting your feedback – also provide the illustration you chose)

design-drawing_clip_image016

1. What fundamentals are used successfully? Describe in detail what you think is the most successful aspect of the illustration (remember to focus on the fundamentals.)
Shape, color, dimension, form and space. I dette bildet er det lagt vekt på farge og sammensetning av detaljer som gjør bildet komplett. Prikkene i bilet former modellen og gjør illustrasjonene komplett på en måte hvor design er på sitt beste.

2. What style from the past is being used in a new way in this illustration? If no previous style is clearly apparent, does it use some form of pastiche? Why do you think this specific style or pastiche was used? Describe in detail whether you think it was used successfully or not.
Stilen som er brukt i dette bildet er en Swiss stil med tanke på farger, form, sammensetning etc.

3. Read again what Mondrian said about the expression of beauty or self. Which do you think played the dominant role in the execution of this illustration? Explain your thoughts.
På dette bildet/illustrasjonen er det the direct creation of universal beauty, som en skal få frem. Illustrasjonen handler ikke om skjønnheten, men om det å få frem budskapet illustrasjonen gir.

4. If you had to create this illustration, before starting the actual execution, what would your initial thoughts be on color, line and composition?:
If i would have made a illustration, i would use different colors who says something with the illustration. Colors is a important factor and it is important that the colors, illustration and the typography is a entirety. The line had to be simple and made in a way that every object fits together, and so you could make a history from the poster. Every object in the poster had to be compositing right, so it work together and nothing is alone.

learning activity – typography

Question 1.

1. Define the term “typography” in your own words.
The word “Typography” means writing. It is an art and a technique of arranging a type to make a written image of something.

2. Write a few sentences explaining what typography is not.
– Typography is not handwriting
– Typography is not a graffiti, picture or a letter made by hand
– Typograhpy is not is not only a text

3. Find a case study on typeface development on the Internet (similar to the ones in Addendum A). Explain which medium (small format printing, large format printing, mobile devices, etc.) the font developed is best suited for and why. Keep legibility, size and style in mind.

Helvetica is a known grotesque typeface, who was originally developed in 1957 by the swiss fontartist, Max Miedinger toghether with Eduard Hoffmann.

There are only small differences in captil letters like C, G and R besides the small letters like a, e, r and which substantially seperates the two feed types. The helvetica font is used in many different brands, all over the world. Some of those brands are Panasonic, Nestle, Microsoft, Tupperware etc.

MA – 03 Door to door organics

Last week (friday) i submitted my Mandatory assignment – Door to door organics.

The american company “Door to door organics” are planning and expansion to your local community. Door to door organics are a company who delivers farm fresh, organic food at the customers door step. The company needed a new logo, a visual identity & touchpoint for their expansion. There were a lot of research needed before i could start with their new logo. We were asked to find out about their target group, the competition, drivers & barriers etc.

This was a really fun assignment and all that research came handy at the last part before submission.

The logo, packaging design & car decor.
