loose juice.

This learning activity was to do an illustration for fruit juice packaging (orange and banana flavour). The name of the product is: Loose Juice.

We should draw at least 15 scamps, of what the label would look like, and then we should choose one of our sketches and draw the label, using Adobe Illustrator.  I´ve tried Illustrator sometimes before, but i´m not good, and it isn´t my favourite program. But i have drawed some sketches, and did the label in Illustrator, so here is my work.

Here is my 15 sketches, distributed on three sheets. So when i found the sketch i wanted to do in Illustrator, i colored it, and started with the label in Illustrator.

And my finishing result:

Even though it wasn´t perfect, i tried my best, and at the end, it didn´t look so bad. The background of the picture i got from google.no, and the left was made by me.

packaging of rice.

This is the fourth and the last learning assignments this week. This assignment was to design a package of rice. The packaging has to be different from what is out there in the market. Apply each one of the SCAMPER techniques and do a write-up on your findings. Then choose the option that you think would work best and do a sketch of what the packaging would look like.

For this assignment i decided to create a rice packaging with a twist! This rice is for those who like hot and spicy flavors, and not are scared of trying something different. So my rice packaging is with Tabasco taste. I´ve never heard about it before, so i thought my idea would be good. The back of the rice packaging have a measurement, so people easily can find out how much rice it´s left in the package.

Substitute
Replace the common flavor of rice with tabasco flavor and replacing the traditional rectangular shape, with a round shape that is environmentally friendly.

Combine
Combine flavour and a measurement, and boiling the rice is quick and easy!

Adapt
Adapt for those who like a spicy taste and meal.

Modify
The rice package get more reinforced, since it´s round and compact.

Put in some other use
We can recycle the rice packaging, so it can become something different later.

Eliminate
Eliminate today´s package and the need of measurement when you have to measure the rice.

Rearrange
Rearrange it so it´s easier for people to cook rice, because of the measurement on the back, so you can see how much rice you need.

practical assignment. teaspoon!

The third learning assignment this week was about a teaspoon. We were given a teaspoon as an object. Now apply each one of the SCAMPER techniques to it and give a brief explanation of what new product comes of this and how it can be marketed.

Skann 7

For this assignment i decided to come up with a teaspoon coat rack. The new product who comes out of this is a cheap, cool and different coat rack. I would marketed this product and focused on all the things you can make of old furnitures. You can make something by your self almost for free, and make something that people haven´t thought about yet.

Substitute
Replace the coat rack with something different than a regular coat rack.

Combine
Combine kitchen utensils, for example  a cutting board and some spoons.

Adapt
Customize by how many jackets and hooks (teaspoons) you need.

Modify
Reinforce the teaspoons with screws, so they fit perfectly.

Put in some other use
Instead of eating with the spoons, can you use it to something else.

Eliminate
You can eliminate unwanted spoons in the kitchen bucket.

Rearrange
You can rearrange the teaspoons after size and shape.

mcdonald´s and the scamper method.

The second learning activity assignment was to use the internet to research the history of the fast food chain McDonald’s and explain which parts of the SCAMPER model are evident in its development onto its current success.

Skann 7

S: The chain replace the menus that not sell well, and comes with new menus and dishes, to see if they sell better.

C: The chain combines different types of food, so everyone can eat something they like. Like vegetables, hamburger, fruit, chicken, dessert. Salt and sweet and healthy and some food that aren´t that healthy.

A: One thing McDonalds have done to adapt their customers, is to have a drive-in at the store. So the customers can eat in the store, or pick up orders and take the food home.

M: McDonalds have modified very much. They have extended to all continents in the world, except the antarctic.

P: They have become very good at building the shops so the people who are disabled, easy can come in the shop. And even young and older people are equally welcome.

E: I feel this is almost the same as S. They take out the menus who not sell, and replace them with new ones.

R: The guest can clean up after them selves, and they easily can get salt, pepper, ketchup, straws ++ them selves.

Skann 7

The first learning activity assignment was to make a self portrait, without using any camera. Sine we had to come up a creative solution i decided to draw a girl with dark brown hair just like me, standing from her side. The equipment i used was, paper sheets, pencil, colored pencils (brown, blue and red) and my scanner. So this was my creative solution of a self portrait.
